Growing up a die hard New York dolls fan, the young Steven Patrick Morrissey became an early convert to punk rock. After a brief stint fronting the bands The Nosebleeds in 1978 and then Slaughter and the dogs - both alongside guitarist Billy Duffy (who later went on to form The Cult), Morrissey temporarily moved away from music in order to publish several books. Morrissey’s latest album is 2009’s Years of Refusal. Produced by You Are The Quarry producer Jerry Finn - who sadly died before the release of Years… the album was another huge critical and commercial success.
